ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
The Accounting Specialist is the primary position focused on accounting for the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah (TFNU). Other key duties include: TFNU Membership Campaign oversight, donation management, volunteer management, and maintaining and organizing TFNU documents.

Job Location: Ogden, UT
Position Type: 15-20 hours per week
Wage: $15-$17 per hour depending on experience
The Accounting Specialist & Office Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and assists the TFNU Board Treasurer. Duties shall include but are not limited to:
Job Description
- Maintain and manage TFNU’s management software- Little Green Light
- Reconcile all monthly bank statements and merchant accounts for treasurer review and approval
- Input and prepare payroll for all TFNU employees
- Maintain and create fund transfers within QuickBooks
- Prepare monthly/quarterly cash available reports
- Maintain grant tracking and funds available for awarded and reimbursable grants
- Prepare and deposit funds and save documentation on server
- Create month end reports from merchant services account
- Enter merchant transactions and deposits by customer in QuickBooks
- Accurately input, code, and track all TFNU transactions and donations
- Billing, invoicing and check printing
- Provide backup documents for the treasurer
- Responsible for the overall management and organization of the office, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Ensure all insurance, documents, business licenses, easements, and contracts are current, filed and accurate
- Assist with TFNU Membership Campaign reporting and other Fundraising efforts
- Provide volunteer coordination, notify volunteers of opportunities, provide information to volunteers, and track volunteer hours
- Responsible for helping to respond to TFNU emails and phone calls
- Assist with Sponsorship and Partnership opportunities
- Assist with daily office functions
- Assist Executive Director as needed
Professional Qualifications
- Accounting skills/knowledge and Quickbooks experience is required
- Experience with processing payroll (ADP) and Excel
- Non-profit experience is preferred but not required
- Detail oriented and able to work independently
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and proactive
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of and ability to use various software applications, including: word processing, email, presentation, publishing, spreadsheet, and database
- Ability to make timely decisions when faced with competing priorities and to maintain a composed manner under pressure
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, board members, volunteers, and partners
- TFNU employees must be able to pass an employment background check
