David Hartwig has been a supporting member of TFNU for the past 3 years. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, he has been in Utah for almost exactly 6 years now. An avid biker and hiker, David loves all trails, but is partial to the area around the Art Nord Trailhead. In his opinion, Wheeler Canyon is national-park level beautiful, and that East and Middle Fork are excellent Mountain Bike Trails, while Sardine is “just ridiculous” in terms of the different terrain you go through – from Alpen pine, rock and gorgeous aspen groves.

It was important for David to become a supporting member of TFNU as he’d been a member of a land conservancy in his original home state for decades. It’s incredibly important to him that we protect and care for the land around us while also managing and providing access for recreation. Often, by providing access to beautiful recreation, we can inspire a lifelong love of the land. He says he sees the work that TFNU performs as one that is vital and necessary for him (as well as other outdoor enthusiasts in Northern Utah) to continue living adventurously here in the Ogden area.

When asked if he had any final words for us (in true TFNU style) he replied, “Be nice. Say hi.”

Thanks, David!
