What to Know About Rattlesnakes in Utah and How to Stay Safe
Rattlesnakes are active in Utah during spring and summer, especially at dawn and dusk, and can be found in rocky, dry, and open areas. They are protected by law, so never try to harass or kill them-doing so increases the risk of bites. If you encounter a rattlesnake, stay calm, keep at least 10 feet away, warn others, and watch your step carefully. If bitten, seek medical attention immediately and avoid harmful first aid like cutting the wound or using a tourniquet.
Thank you, Bank of Utah
Bank of Utah has provided TFNU with a $6,250 contribution to help plan, build, and maintain Northern Utah’s trails.
